Something that is often overlooked, yet is extremely vital to all design work and art work in general is the process. As a designer, the aspect that is most focused on is the end product, and we often have complete control over the entire process and outcome. Although, with this project, I tried something different. I decided to let the process, including the materials, medium, and creation process control the outcome. I relinquished control of my project and allowed it to create something itself.
I produced a set of rules to follow for each and every design, with one ultimate goal. I started with making one line in my Illustrator file, and then created another, with the goal that I wanted to be able to produce something that could create movement that can control the eyes of whoever looks at it. I then connected the lines in the file and blended to create interesting linear patterns. Ultimately, in this project, I learned that it is important to let go of control, and let the process control the outcome, instead of the other way around.
