Cena Salvador - Mobile App

This project reports how design and technology can contribute to the communication
between the audience and the theater, expanding the existing contact possibilities.
Based on the theater scene of Salvador (Bahia, Brazil), it used the experiential and
emotional design approaches to develop mobile interfaces that provided an intuitive and
emotionally engaging interaction that would allow a greater connection between
audience and spectacle.

Applying the playful nature of the performing arts to provide some sort of enchantment to the public, gamification was used as a tool to generate greater involvement with users and as a bridge to multimedia and crossmedia actions. Following Garrett's (2011) methodology for the development of digital interfaces, this process was also complemented with tools that provided a greater involvement with the target audience such as card sorting, user research, PrEmo emotional experience evaluation and usability tests. This interaction helped fulfill the objective of allowing a greater bond between audience and performance, as well as successfully resulting in mobile interfaces consistent with the demands raised by them.

The final interfaces, also stood out by the proposals of gamification that raised a new form of this public to interact with the theater. Through messages and evaluations that arrive directly and with less obstacles to the two interlocutors of this conversation, there was a simplification in the communication that at the same time became more playful and enjoyable. Given its great potential for impact on the environment that is inserted, it can influence the cultural habits of the public, moving the entertainment trade of the city and also has the capacity to generate a greater involvement and proactivity of theatrical productions.
