Collage “Italiano per stranieri”

When typography, patterns, and photos mix into collages... Walter Paganuzzi and myself designed a series of collage artwork called “Italiano per stranieri”, which means Italian for foreigners. It was inspired by me being a newbie in Italy and having to learn Italian. We choose some words and swearwords that we thought are useful to know. I designed the patterns of words with my typeface "Debeli Ligenj" (Engl. Fat squid) that I previously designed, and Walter used the patterns to make a series of collage artwork.
Our work, together with the work of others, was exhibited in the exhibition “Cocktail” in Spazio Galileo in Milano, curated by Stefania Lelio and Martino Saccani. All artwork was made in collaboration with friends - often while drinking cocktails.
