Peace One Day Campaign

Peace One Day Campaign
University Project

The big idea was the idea of protesting any anti-peace activities whether it is war, domestic violence or any other agitation that isn’t peaceful. We want people all over the globe to consider taking the aspect of peace into their lives. Listening to news reports daily that talk almost only about war, violence and other increasing statistics in hostile behavior is something communities as a whole now turn a deaf ear to and this must stop.

What our idea was, was to put together an event, which, in its simplest form, is a sort of a protest against everything anti-peaceful. We planned to organize the largest silent crowd of people assembled at one point. This crowd will be showing their support for peace by taking 21 minutes out of their lives, specifically between 8:00pm – 8:21pm on September 21 st 2012, and devoting it to silence. The crowd will spend 21 minutes reflecting on the chaos and the non-peaceful world that we live in, whether a war or a tiny event that happened at their household that day, and find the inner peace that, once built upon amongst that entire community, will affect and bring hope to the entire humanity. The location for where everyone will gather is said to be in a central point within a major city, like Times Square in New York City. At the specified locations worldwide we will place a digital clock on a screen that counts the minutes until 21 so the people know.

Below are the executions which all revolve around the idea of 21 minutes.

We wanted this to appeal emotionally, to bring about that drive in out target audience.

But this campaign doesn't want to make the event depressing - we want people to also enjoy their time! Therefore, to bring about the light atmosphere, we created this viral video.
