White Stone
The visual representation of a tongue-twister.
What does a tongue-twister look like? These posters attempt to graphically as well as lexically communicate a colloquial Greek tongue-twister.
The design is primarily based on the content of the phrase, which describes a white stone brightened by the sun. The sunlight is represented by white type screen-printed onto black paper. The stone appears as either the negative space created by the absence of white type, or the positive space created by the presence of white type.
The design is also based on the repeated āxā and āsā sounds characterising the tongue twister. TheĀ sharpness of these sounds is conveyed by the typography, composed of thin lines and points without embellishments.
