This project was inspired by the influence of social media. Often people on instagram will hashtag words like “selfie, whore, instagay or vain” and by them labelling themselves the does make it ok for others to call them that? As my final outcome I produced a selfie dictionary describing my opinion on the current words that people actually hashtag and shows visual examples of the people that do this. I also made a ‘Judge Me’ workbook, taking the idea that by hash tagging these words yourself makes it acceptable to judge someone, as instagram in a way becomes this judgement free place where anyone can judge a picture including yourself.
