Century Gothic
Geometric Sans-Serif Monotype

Century Gothic is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed for Monotype Imaging in 1991. It is based on Sol Hess’s Twentieth Century, which was drawn between 1937 and 1947 for the Lanston Monotype Company. The twentieth century is a version go the successful Futura typeface, but it has a larger x-height and more even stroke width. Century Gothic is distinct for its single-story lowercase a and g and may be more closely related to Avant Garde Gothic. Century Gothic can save print ink that is 30% less ink than Arial typeface. Century Gothic has a “thinner print line”, so it uses less ink and toner when printed out. Also, Century Gothic is designed for mostly advertising and best for headlines or display work. It can also be displayed for any small body text.
