FortyFour
This project oversaw the creation of a pocket exhibition, A2 and A1 posters, A6 postcard exhibition invitations and branding in order to showcase all final year BSc Product Design students at the University of Brighton. The materials are intended to promote each graduate designer to potential employers and awards judges at multiple exhibitions and internationally attended events.
Key to the project was brand strategy along with elegant and vibrant visuals to create an intelligent portfolio that gained interest and effectively demonstrated each students work and style.
Typically, all exhibitors have prepared materials and books for attendees to take away. These range in size and weight, which creates the issue of many being put off carrying around lots of large books and leaflets.
The FortyFour Pocket Exhibition is A6 sized for ease of weight and is designed to fit in your back pocket.
As the portfolio is for potential employers to take away, the pages are removable to allow for the ease of use. Each page then becomes an over sized business card that can kept in your pocket or on your notice board for when you need it. The portfolio is also customisable with space to include a personal business card and can be sealed to enhance the user's experience and overall impact.
Strong research into human factors and behaviour lead the project and gave strong focus among the team. Research into text formatting, eye fixation spans and attention spans was carried out in order to benefit each graduate allowing for the reader to take in the maximum amount of information in the quickest amount of time.
Many of the successful designs have now been incorporated into the Product Design course and will be used year on year.
