The design focuses on cleaning up an existing space by both honoring the highly crafted and traditionally decorated interior with select, contemporary additions that playfully respond to these features in a new way.

I had no hand in the design of the space itself, instead being in charge of modeling the space nearly from scratch and pushing its presentation forward so it could be rented in preparation for its completion.

Each particular view is drawn in two photoshop files, beginning with a main, base geometry file where the constant scene is arranged (composed of 4 different rendering passes including a base, ornament, seating, and chandelier).  This base file generated a base jpg.  Layerd over this were 4 other views, each composed of their own passes numbering from 1 to 4, for a total of 8 rendered images overlaid on the original, base-view jpg. This enabled higher-resolution for smaller, more detail-oriented passes where necessary that could be changed out quickly without re-rendering the entire scene.  The current vRay for Rhino 4 wouldn't render an acceptable resolution quality otherwise on the machines on-hand, making this tedious and drawn out process necessary.

The final resolution for the Stage Positions was 3600 x 2100 and 4800 x 2800 for the Bar, yielding over 200 dpi for 11x17 presentation.

The Rhino model was finished to a level of completion that could be used later to easily generate additional, consistently accurate images if need be.  Barring wine-glasses and people, nearly everything was custom-drawn in Rhino with the occasional help of grasshopper for a plethora of parametric fabric options.

I started from an initial, nearly bare base Rhino file (needing significant updating and re-drawing).  While most of the base was modeled and updated carefully referencing CAD drawings, the details were intuitively modeled from sketches and photographs, adding character and requiring a significant level of interpretation from these relatively rough sources.

The assignment called for entirely new entourage from what I had on hand, much of which was further modified for race and age diversity, lighting conditions, etc. when foregrounded.
