Logo Design for "The Bread Artisans" of Florida
I was contacted by a baker in Pinellas Park, Florida, to create a logo for a new bakery that he had been planning to open for several years. He explained that the majority of his recipes were based on original Italian bread-making technology handed down for generations in his family, and used all fresh, natural and organic ingredients. He told me that his bread was a totally "live" food and had a short shelf life, like bread baked a century ago, since no artificial additives or preservatives keep it from spoiling naturally. Remember, if bacteria won't eat it, neither should you.
Unfortunately, just as the logo design was completed, he had a family emergency and moved back to Italy—and the logo never had a chance to be used. It's one of my all time favorite designs and captures the Old World charm of a neighborhood bakery store. It was originally intended to be used as a carved wooden sign hung on an iron bar over the street to attract customers.
