Cakes da Killa is a rapper from New Jersey who I've been following on Soundcloud since early 2011. His music has been a huge influence on my life in regards to style / self expression / movement. I contacted him via Soundcloud in early June thanking him for his music / and offered to do illustration / design work for him if he ever felt like collaborating. A few days later I was asked to do the artwork for his first single (and later on for two more singles) off his debut album HEDONISM

Watching music videos, and following feedback to switch focus on hands, mouths and i-phones (instead of his face), this was the finished result (trying to capture the club/dance/performance atmosphere)

"Up Out My Face" is the second single off of Hedonism. The concept behind this cover was to take the style of the previous cover (keeping a cohesive image), follow the club setting theme, but do a simple bottle of champagne popping into a mouth
