Posters for christmas display

Posters for christmas display

Me and my classmates were asked to create posters for a christmas display which would be hung in the windows of the paper store Antalis in Stockholm, Sweden. The theme was "Graphic winter" and the poster was to be printed on two papers, one which is white and one which is coloured. The print is furthermore supposed to highlight the texture and properties of the paper. My contribution has the title "Vinterlov", which translates to Winter vacation.

In my opinion, winter i all about skiing. Its wonderful to be able to get out of the busy cities and get up in the slopes and enjoy nature and winter at its best. And the best parts of the time in the slopes is probably when you get to sit down in the sun, to rest your legs, and enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate. That felling of total harmony is what I wanted to express in my posters.

We were provided with high quality paper, and the papers that I choose for my design is a paper called Keaykolour, Original, Aubergin, as well as a paper called Keaykolour, 100% Recycled, Particles Snow. The posters are made in a way where certain parts of the design is removed, and instead lets the paper shines through. This enables the paper and the print to work together in order to create the design. I am therefore not using the paper as a background, but instead as a part of the design. The paper-colour, the assigned print-colours and the design together create an vintage feel, which further makes you think of vintage travel-posters and postcards.

Thanks for watching!
