This project transforms the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America into colour, it emulates each emotion expressed through the American people. The document looks closely at one's core ideology of each trial and tribulation America travelled to gain it’s Independence.
Colour conveys each sentiment felt within each positive and negative word used to form the Declaration. In creating colour hue one exhibits a whole document of colour with structure. Red represents hardiness, Valour and enmity and blood fought for freedom. Green signifies relation, springtide, health and hope.
Blue denotes perseverance. Vigilance with the neutrality of water, substance found in each and every one of us. Finally, white is harmonised for purity and innocence. The impressive symbolism of height
stands over 2.5m tall, constituting its dominance in American culture for the last 250 years. Each strip portrays the thirteen British Colonies that declared Independence, but with the shortest strip representing the longest signature of the declaration, which was John Handcock and measures 20cm across.
