Formula SAE (Terps Racing)

Leading the 2012 project

For the 2012 year my primary efforts were spent managing the 2012 project for the Terps Racing program.  Each year we design and build a new race car.  For the 2012 year, we built an entirely new platform for the next generation of vehicles.  One based on a much larger systems based approach resulting in a large aero structure, a small more efficient engine, and a very narrow chassis and frame.

My involvement was spent mostly in the management of the entire team and project deliverables.  My primary achievements for this project were increasing the project funding, tracking the progress of the project and making sure that all resources were available on time, and that the scope of the project was met.  I also assisted many younger students with the development of their individual projects.

Overall funding was increased from $97,000 in 2011 to over $300,000 in 2012.  We also were able to attain an additional $1.2 million in software for testing and simulations of our vehicle.
