Wayfinding | National Institute of Design
Brief: Redesign the existing signage and create a better wayfinding system in a week.
Before getting started on the wayfinding system, I first developed pictograms for every space so that they could be easily identified and be used by the new signage system.
Next, I assigned a colour to each floor to give some order to the signage system.
Taking an in depth study of the first floor, I designed all the applicable signage.
Visitors to the floor are also provided with a map to consult at the entrance to pinpoint their location.
The placement of all the signage was also mapped out on a plan to ensure clear and concise navigation. The flow of the visitor and their confusions can be avoided with appropriate signage placement.
The signage at the main gate, and other locations leading the first floor were also planned out.
The best part? This new system easily slots into the existing infrastructure with no extra modification needed.
