Independent project visualizing structural biochemistry course material. When the 3-D hemoglobin shadow box model is illuminated, shadows are cast through a window or “lens-like” structure creating abstract nuanced projections. Implementation of white cut symbolize oxygen, as hemoglobin is a protein responsible for delivering oxygen in the blood to surrounding organs throughout the body, it serves as a crucial factor for breathing and survival. By visualizing the hemoglobin protein in its chemical, atomic, and macroscopic (heart tissue) structure and projecting all three magnifications in one illuminated shadow box, this model emphasizes the delicate importance of hemoglobin in sustaining human life.
