Paper Cuts
the love series
In a store behind a store on Broadway, I used to buy paper by the pound. There were all kinds of papers, different colors, weights, finishes and I love them all. Besides the paper factory, there are my own collections of printed papers and paper that I have marbleized or painted when I was a sheet painter for a clothing designer. I also worked as a paste-up artist where I discovered Pantone and Color Aid papers with glorious high chromas that delight the eyes! Now as we move away from traditional sources of printed papers magazines and newspapers, paper becomes more precious than ever. With this in mind, I offer this series of paper cuts exploring the emotion of love, (or the lack of it) and constructed with an assortment of much loved wood pulp.
