Esse não é só um livro sobre os filmes de Harry Potter, mas sim, um livro sobre uma análise do design gráfico editorial presente nos filmes de Harry Potter. Algo para entender como a história influenciou o design do filme e o design se adequou à história com o passar dela. É basicamente um guia para que fãs de Harry Potter entendam um pouco o design editorial e para que designers possam entender melhor o magnífico mundo mágico que foi criado para o filme; o design se destaca aqui porque raramente histórias com uma atmosfera tão específica são tão bem traduzidas das páginas para telas de cinema.

This is not just a book about the Harry Potter films, but a book about the analysis of editorial graphic design present in the Harry Potter films. Something to understand how the story has influenced the design of the film and how the design is adapted to the story over it. It is basically a guide to Harry Potter fans understand a little about editorial design and designers can better understand the magnificent magical world that was created for the film; the design is important here because rarely stories with such a specific atmosphere are so well translated pages to the big screen.

Muitas pessoas podem entender Harry Potter apenas como um investimento bilionário da indústria cultural, mas essa história deixou de ser apenas isso há muito tempo. Potter trouxe consigo não apenas fãs, mas sim pessoas que viveram, cresceram e aprenderam muito junto com todo esse universo.

Ao contrário do que muitos pensam, o mundo fantástico permite outra forma de compreensão da realidade e não um afastamento. Assim, J. K. Rowling conseguiu criar um livro de fácil acesso, escrita simples e, acima de tudo, muito relacionável com a realidade vivida por milhares de pessoas em todo o mundo: várias fases e transformações – físicas e psicológicas – pelas quais passamos neste período da vida.

A “geração Harry Potter” cresceu junto com a saga, e é isso que a torna muito mais do que apenas histórias sequenciais: são um guia sobre como enfrentar dificuldades, lutar pelos seus sonhos e atingir um sucesso final construído a partir de pilares como a honra, comprometimento, força de vontade e justiça. Many people can understand Harry Potter just like a billionaire investment of the cultural industry, but this story is no longer just that, long ago. Potter brought with him not only fans, but people who lived, grew up and learned a lot with this whole universe.
Contrary to what many people think, the fantastic world allows another way of understanding reality and not a departure. So JK Rowling could create a book of easy access, simple writing and, above all, very relatable to the reality experienced by thousands of people around the world: several phases and transformations - physical and psychological - we all have gone through this period of life.
The "Harry Potter Generation" has grown along with the books and movies, and that's what makes it more than just sequential stories: is a guide about how to face difficulties, fight for our dreams and achieve ultimate success built from pillars as honor, commitment, willpower and justice. Harry is not just a character: is our best friend.

A ordem sequencial dos assuntos tratados no livro, primeiro, define um dos elementos principais do design editorial e, exemplifica em seguida, com peças criadas para um dos filmes; cada capítulo abrange um filme diferente, explorando uma peça especifica mais predominante nele.

The sequential order of the topics discussed in the book first defines one of the main elements of editorial design and exemplifies then with pieces created for one of the films; each chapter covers a different film, exploring a specific piece more predominant in it.

A maioria das peças citadas neste livro foi criada por uma dupla de designers: Miraphora Mina e Eduardo Lima, que se conheceram dentro do segundo filme, e hoje administram a MinaLima, um estúdio de design em Londres, de onde grande parte das imagens usadas no livro foram tiradas.

Most of the pieces in this book was created by two designers: Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, who met during the second movie, and now administer MinaLima, a design studio in London, where most of the images used in the book were taken.

Conforme os anos vão passando, percebe-se que os filmes vão ficando cada vez mais escuros e sombrios, essa mudança foi retratada com destaque no decorrer do livro, com os brushes que foram criados fazendo referência aos dementadores e comensais da morte, simbolizando à magia das trevas que vai se fortalecendo a cada filme.

As the years go by, you can realize that movies are becoming increasingly dark and gloomy, this change was pictured prominently throughout the book, with brushes that have been created with reference to the Dementors and Death Eaters, symbolizing the dark magic that becomes stronger with each film.

Foram adicionados, como promocionais, impressos pertencentes ao filme, como o Mapa do Maroto, a carta de Hogwarts e o convite do Baile de Inverno, todos retirados do livro Harry Potter - Film Wizardry.

Some promotionals were added, they were printed pieces belonging to the film, like the Marauder's Map, the Hogwarts letter and the invitation of the Yule Ball, all taken from the book Harry Potter - Film Wizardry.

Para mim, Harry Potter terá o mesmo destino de Pinóquio, Peter Pan, e diversas outras histórias. Será uma história familiar, com uma moral, um legado, passando para frente os diversos valores que Rowling nos ensinou: o valor da amizade, a confiança, força de vontade, mas sobretudo que são as nossas escolhas que definem o caminho a seguir e quem somos/seremos.

For me, Harry Potter will have the same fate of Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and various other stories. It will be a familiar story with a moral, a legacy, going forward the various values that Rowling taught us: the value of friendship, trust, willpower, but above all, it is our choices that define the way forward and who we are or who we will be.
