app // a collaborative tool for mapping the city

The mobile app MAPPA, through smart connections to facebook, instagram and a writable map, allowed urbanists to collectively and digitally map the urban city informed also by cultural layers such as social media.
The app built on our former experience developing another app, NARRAHAND, enabling African immigrants narrate their story in alignment and contrast to present day life in Oslo through GPS located entries around town.
The MAPPA app was part of the larger research project YOUrban in collaboration with Centre for Design Research at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design.
