Lilium Drinking Fountain
Briefed to create a tap design for the Cobra Tap Design Competition in my 2nd year of the 3D Design Course at CPUT in 2013.
My approach to this project involved me looking at the current water situation in Cape Town and South Africa and designing something that would impact public spaces rather than just design another tap for home use.
Aspects that were considered included preventing water wastage, providing drinking water in public spaces such as parks, school grounds, sports fields and townships, and bringing beauty inspired by nature into public spaces.
I considered the use of hempcrete for the base of the design and considered the possibilities of collecting the water run-off for irrigation.
