~ BUG ~

As part of my Experimental Animation Course at National Institute of Design, I chose to explore "sand" as a medium to animate in and came up with a short, engaging non narrative visual as an outcome.

While animating I had the great opportunity to understand, freely explore and play with the properties of sand as a medium. It started with me struggling to come to terms with my own decision to step into uncharted territories, to spending hours at end only to fail to get one single frame right but in the end I fell in love with the magical properties of sand.

To be able to control the grains, play with the layers to get a certain opacity was no doubt tedious yet the result was so free flowing and sand being such a flexible medium gave me immense satisfaction to see the visuals coming to life. From creating wooden tools to manipulate the medium to endless sleepless nights spent bringing life to something that only existed in my imagination, I am thankful for getting this lovely opportunity to truly experiment with a non conventional medium for animation and having fun with it at the same time.
