Richard Ginori, currently GRG, is one of the world most important Italian companies in the production of porcelain.

Besides its artistic value, the history of this company literally came into Italian homes. Everyone, consciously or not, has eaten in dishes or cups designed by the workers of this historic company.

The project started at ISIA Urbino, during the Editorial Design course held by Leonardo Sonnoli. The aim was to design a volume about an important Italian company. But a story that has almost three hundred years is not easy to tell; that’s why it was decided to realize a nontraditional monograph.

The book wants to recount how we came in contact with the manufacture’s world and what we discovered and learned from this unique experience. The volume retraces our steps, in chronological order, from the first research phase to the factory visit, ending with a personal interpretation of the history of the Ginori Manufactory, decomposing the historical decorations of the company and by linking with other factory of the same period.
