Deconstructive Typography

Typography
Deconstructive Typography / Bilkent University Senior Project (2009)

The focal point of this project was the approach to the core of philosophy of deconstruction and its link with the "text" and the typography. With the guidance of the paintings of Antonin Artaud,(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonin_Artaud ), and the philosophy of Jacques Derrida, i questioned the meaning and the aim of "writing". The stages of the project was to create a new font named Deconstype,by letting Helvetica -which is known by its rationalist and suprematist behaviour- free and living by itself. We can call this new font as "Helvetica, living by its very own nature, not from the human perception". After designing the font, the philosophy of deconstructive typography was explained by posters,a book and a video.
