PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This project was a gift for a wedding. The couple I made this for always has a bag in box dispenser in their refrigerator. The white wine is always cool and ready to drink because of this box. 

The odd thing about these boxes is that the shape isn't the same for every brand of wine. This causes problems when stored in the refrigerator, like a tap that is located on the top instead of the front of the box.

To solve this problem, I made a box that always has the right orientation. Because this was a present, the box was personalized for the couple.

ORIGINAL IDEA:

The original idea of this project was to create a wooden box that could open on the front. initially the idea was that 2 different types of wood, would create some contrast in the design. But because the wood was too hard to find locally, plywood and paint where a better alternative.

PROTOTYPE PHASE:

During the prototype phase, different models where made and tested. The most important aspect of this project was the size of the box. Big enough to fit the bag, but compact to keep nice aesthetics.

FINAL RESULT:

For this model, felt was used on the bottom to avoid scratches. The letters of the first name of the couple was used to make it more personal.
