Diary of a Bad Year

Diary of a Bad Year (written by J.M. Coetzee) is a book that consists of diary entries beneath essays, which describe ‘the relationship that develops between the two main characters, a relationship that ultimately leads to subtle evolutions in both their worldviews’. Diary of a Bad Year consists of two parts, which each contain three perspectives. These perspectives are placed in a way that makes it possible to connect them using a reference system. Three different types of paper indicate a hierarchy between the three perspectives.
