The rebranding of the Zoo Dortmund was a university project and curated by Margarethe Saxler in 2016.
The assignment of this class was the conception and design of a visual identity for the Zoo Dortmund, as well as the creative organization and compositing of a corporate design in different media.
Significant design elements of this simple and minimal branding are the Illustrations of the Animals in the Zoo. They interact with the word mark as the circles of the Illustrations and the logo always have the same size and are placed at the same height.
If the illustration occurs next to the logo, only one half of the illustration is shown on the right of the logo. The second one is visible at the left side of the back of the medium.
Yet this defined design rules can be applied individually in different media like stationery, the guidance system, merchandise and web design.
