Story

In a mythical forest
Not far from here
Is a story told
And it’s really not old
About a goat and his dream
Which is granted it may seem.

From midnight to noon
Under full moon
He gazes up at the infinite sky
How he wished he too could fly.

On no particular warm summers night
The goat was greeted by a figure in light.

A magical frog
Whom sat on a log
Gave out a great croaky sigh,
“My dear goat, why can’t you see
This is simply how you’re meant to be”?

The goat was stubborn
And wanted his way,
He snatched the frog’s crystal
And gave it a sway.

In the arch of his back
The goat felt a sting
On each of his sides
Grew a pink, feathered wing.

“What’s this!?!” cried the goat
“I look like a wee girl!”
But the frog just smiled
And gave his moustache a twirl.

Tears welled up in the poor goat’s eyes
He would surely be alone until the day he dies.
The other animals laughed and teased -
To which the goat felt terribly displeased.

But alas! There was one small creature on Earth
Whom had too felt the wrath of judgement from birth;
The humble fly.
Whom lived in the branches of the crooked bonsai.

She peered down at her saddened friend
Whose broken heart she wished to mend.
“I know I am but a wee little fly
but for what it’s worth I shall not lie
I really do love your feathered wings
And all the magic energy that they bring”

The goat smiled and wiped his cheek,
He felt his legs grow immensely weak.
“Come my dear, let’s fly together”
And they played amongst the stars
Forever and ever.

The End.
