Walden Revisited –
a hybrid novel about living in the woods

By the midst of the 19th century Henry David Thoreau withdrew from society with moving to a self-built wooden cabin at Lake Walden, Massachusetts. Reflecting upon simple living by immersing himself in nature, Thoreau hoped to gain a more objective understanding of society through personal introspection.

This new edition tries to reinvent the words of Thoreau with different graphic und illustrative techniques regard to modern times. The usage of the books materiality complement the verbal level and enhance the reading process of the physical book itself.

«I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately,
to front only the essential facts of life and see if I could not learn
what it had to teach - and not, when I came to die,
discover that I had not lived.»

«Walden tries to capture the wild and transfer
it into the physical form of the book.»

«Walden Revisited tries to push the boundaries in book design

«Walden is a chance to dive deep
into the circles of nature.»

«Walden is a calming thought in an
accelerated surrounding.»
