Project featured at Art Center College of Design Student Gallery Spring 2012
Belindraw is the alias of Belinda Liu. Belinda started her art blog September of 2009. She posted about her latest illustrations and the music that inspired her to create that illustration. She quickly built a following of people that would check out her posts on a daily basis. During the year of 2009 Belinda had a booth at PMX (Pacific Media Expo) where she sold her drawings (traditional pen and paper) and did commissions. During the years after she had gained more and more recognition from her art blog and the PMX. July 2010 she was invited to attend and hold a booth at Anime Expo LA which is one of the biggest anime conventions in the nation. Since then she switched from the traditional media to the digital media. At Anime Expo LA she sold prints of her drawings (from postcard size to large poster size) and drew commissions using copic’s and paper. She did so well that Anime Expo LA invited her back again in 2011. She started to grow in popularity through her art blog and at the various expos. She began to taking commission requests from clients outside of the expos through her art blog. One of her notable clients is a small trade & collectible store called Desu-nation. Desu-Nation, located in Temple City, CA, commissioned Belinda to illustrate a store mascot for them and have a mural done on their walls inside the store. This year PMX also commissioned her to illustrate a mascot and various other illustrations to go on the tickets, staff badges and t-shirts of the convention. Just recently she began to venture into a new type of media called live streaming. She streams her screen live while she is illustrating for people to see the process of her illustration. Her art blog can be found at: http://belindraw.tumblr.com/

Experimentation With Handwriting
Played around with the concept of having a hand-written area of the name. Used two different hand writings. The goal was to keep the consistency with the Bauhaus typeface on the hand-written type by using the ascender and x-heights and line weights of the Bauhaus typeface.
