The initial brief by D&AD was to design three typographic posters for a three month campaign promoting Saturday Sessions, a night held at the Ministry Of Sound Club in London. The campaign promoted September, October and November’s line-up at the club.
I expanded the brief to produce a whole range of promotional material for the event including flyers, ticket designs, lanyard, tote bag, t-shirt, keyring, and a three disk CD.
I created the typeface used throughout the project. It was initially inspired by the laser lighting effects in nightclubs which lead onto the formation of star constellations. (see typeface here)
The CD features all the artists which are at Saturday Sessions in the three month poster series. The CD case structure is inspired by the shapes created in my typeface and constellation pattern. It opens out to hold three disks.
