Caribou investigates the role played by the empathic process
within digital visual media. Firstly the analysis shows the
fundamental aspects of empathy, after that it considers the main
traditional visual reportages and compare them with the most
current formats, such as interactive documentary or virtual reality.
Subsequently, the study focuses on the ethical aspects and the
relevant regulations governing the profession of journalists, with
special attention to those who generates information through
visual reportage. Finally, the speech concludes with a hypothetic
project designed to verify what has emerged from the analysis,
testing the empathic process on complex issues.
