International Service Design Day is a global service design movement which was initiated by Service Design Network in 2016. It aims to promote the power of service design, celebrate it’s achievements, create awareness and bring people together across nations and multidisciplinary backgrounds.
I worked closely together with the Project Manager Kaya Kim for Service Design Day Project as the Assistant Project Manager; on concept development & value creation, benchmarking research for international design movements, global communication and promotion strategy, co-creation approach, developing an online communication platform, visualisations and execution of content creations.
We started off with a co-creation workshop which was held at Köln International School of Design. With participations of 25 people from different regional companies and national / international students. We gathered as a good multinational and multidisciplinary sample group for an initial brainstorming. Lots of different ideas and questions came up as the expectations started to build up!
With the outcomes of the co-creation session and loads of other ideation sessions at SDN, we decided to narrow down the top ideas and create a survey to share with the national chapters and SDN members - which carried on the co-creation process to the next level. The results of this survey determined the two main activities that will take place on the day.
Every post has been shared with the hashtag #ServiceDesignDay which made it possible to bring them together on the SDN website via a social streamer function. People were eager to create and contribute with their own visuals, enriching the service design spirit even more!
We were working in collaboration with Adam Lawrance and Global Goverment Jam,
creating cross-promotion for Service Design Day.
