Book of Beasts

My book is an urban bestiary, a classically designed modern guide to beasts for all ages. Fifteen etchings (brass rubbings) show everyday phenomena that take the forms of animals such as dust bunnies, pipeline pigs and weathercocks. When writing the texts I took inspiration from the mystery intertwined with our lives as well as the modern urban environment and its events. I chose brass rubbing, which is a traditional duplication method, to keep the tales about legendary beasts alive in the era of digital mass production and to bring back the forgotten genre of the bestiary.
The book also contains smaller illustrations for the short articles.
They appear in side-notes, and are also used as the pattern of the end-paper.
15 etchings illustrate the beasts. The original prints are binded in the book. The cover title is also an etching, featuring the "Everdreaming Dragon" which symbolizes all the monsters I created.
