#NoRestinBucharest campaign serves as a City Branding pack that comes in aid of a popular and beloved European project called the European Capital of Culture. In 2021, Romania will host the European Capital of Culture for the second time (after Sibiu in 2007) and Bucharest is one of the main candidates.

The EU panel will then designate the city that will act as a Capital of Culture for a period of one calendar year during which it organises a series of cultural events with a strong European dimension. Preparing a European Capital of Culture can be an opportunity for the city to generate considerable cultural, social and economic benefits and it can help foster urban regeneration, change the city's image and raise its visibility and profile on an international scale, provided that their bid is part of a longer-term culture-led development strategy. In 2015 the European Capitals of Culture celebrated 30 years of success and achievements.

Born in 1985, the European Capitals of Culture have grown into one of the most ambitious cultural projects in Europe and one of the best known and most appreciated activities of the EU. Their objectives are to promote the diversity of cultures in Europe, to highlight the common features they share and to foster the contribution of culture to the long-term development of cities.

The illustrations cover the key attractions and historic monuments of Bucharest, among which - The Palace of the Parliament (People’s House), Antipa Museum, The Botanical Garden, the old city centre, Herastrau Park, Cismigiu Gardens, Victoria Casino, The Cantacuzino Palace, The Romanian Athenaeum, The National Opera, Casin Monastery, Bellu Cemetery, The Museum of the Romanian Peasant, Carturesti Library, The Fire Tower
