Inspiration
Colour Scheme and Illustration elements
After the illustration designs were approved, I had to create multiple variations using the colours above. As the designs were being knitted or possible screen printed, I had a limit of 3/4 colours to create the illustration. This was to keep the cost of production in mind when working out how to get the best design using less colour. During this stage, some of the designs had to be taken back to linework and adjusted to be simplified, making the illustration work with block colour in mind. Within these colours, some are only available in Cashmere and others in Merino Wool. This was another expense to keep in mind with the price different of the Wool used for certain designs.

I would like to say thank you to the lovely lady Ji Won Ree for giving me the opportunity to do the textiles print design internship for J.Won London. I had learned a great deal with working in the busy environment of a high end fashion studio, being part of the team designing the print for the A/W16 collection. It is an amazing feeling seeing the illustrations become patterns, which is brought to life on the clothing Jiwon creates.
All work and photographs are owned by J.Won London.
