I started my wine writing career at Wine magazine in 2008 as a junior journalist. I was assigned the controversial beat of reviewing various tasting rooms in the winelands - a column which caused a serious stir in the wine community. Unfortunately, the blatant honesty with which I approached my reviews weren't appreciated by those who received unfavourable reviews, and this resulted in the column being canned. At this stage I had been promoted to a senior writing position which afforded me the opportunity to travel extensively to various destinations to report on food, wine and lifestyle offerings. I also wrote numerous profiles on winemakers, wine review pages as well as opinion pieces. This portfolio showcases the introductions to some of my articles...
