Central Vietnam- Hoi An

My love affair with Vietnam started 5 years ago when my best friend and I decided to explore new places to satiate our love for food and adventure. It was not a difficult choice to make as we've been to most South East Asian countries apart from Vietnam. We decided on Ho Chih Minh City as there were loads to do, see and eat.

Five years on, after visiting the South twice and North, once, I decided to travel to Central Vietnam as the photos of the beautiful yellow building lining the streets intrigued me. Noting that the food options differed in the North and South of Vietnam, I was very excited too, to see what the Central had to offer me. I was not disappointed.
With only five days to spare, my adventure started in Hoi An before I slowly made my way up to Danang and Hue. My verdict? I'm definitely going back to Hoi An with my best friend in tow this time.
An amazing breakfast of Bánh mì ốp la found across the street. Possibly one of the best breakfast ever.
A common sight on the streets of Vietnam where street vendors wake up early in the morning to prepare for the busy morning crowd.
A Vietnamese lady stepping out of her house.
A sleepy dog guarding the house with beautiful yellow walls which speaks of character.
The famous Japanese-covered bridge of Hoi An City, Vietnam.
A local street vendor scooping delicious black sesame paste into a little serving bowl
The owner of the small eatery preparing a bowl of Cháo vịt (Duck Congee) as I wait in anticipation (yes it comes with the usual mountain of greens too).
A farmer in deep thoughts as his buffalo grazes the field after a long day of ploughing the fields of Tra Que, Hoi An.
Having some fun
This version of Vietnamese pizza is known as Bánh Tráng Nướng, found on the streets in Danang City. Indescribably awesome. Actually awesome is an understatement.
