This project is carried out within the context of my Master’s degree at the Faculty of fine Arts, University of Porto, to the curricular unity of Contexts and Illustration Practices under the orientation of Julio Dolbeth.
The dictionary about my grandmother is a illustration book with all the words that Dona Natalia created and which continues to create throughout her life.
My grandmother is a person with a strong and distinctive personality and she has a heart the size of the world.The creative ability to invent new words /terms is huge. She was born with this gift, which makes her unique.Strange as it may seem, she gives a certain essence to everything she says.
In my entire family, my maternal grandmother is the person who most reminds me of the Portuguese people (in the good way). So why not represent her as my symbol, my identity of Portugal?
Portugal lives from the memories we build and we want to immortalize.
