Packaging 'Gender Stereotypes'

My expectation for this project is to cognize people, about 'Gender Stereotyping' through advertisements, in India or around the world.
Our male-dominated society for ages has always ignored triumphant women and has forcefully stereotyped a female’s role in life.
But through the unmoving willingness of women to counter these stereotypes, the contemporary Indian society
is steadily changing for good and bad.
With the advancement of “Stereotyped advertisements”, comes advancement of “Gender roles”.

I want to help the population realize that we are giving into these advertisements, and how women are mostly the only priority to these advertisement companies ( basically for the sole reason of profit ) or vice versa. Alternatively, we need to sharpen the definition of indecent portrayal

Commenting on “Gender Bias” through the literal “Sculpture packaging” space, would force people to connect with these blatant stereotyped advertisements, that they are (were) getting dragged towards through Television, Radio, Mall advertisements, etc.
Gender equality needs to be incorporated and social change is needed to be brought in.

The life size “Sculpture Packaging” moments the gender biased consumer products, for this reason and to portray the dominance of the advertisements over us.

Exhibition Space
The space design, for the 'Sculpure packaging’, plays the central part for the project.
It frames up the ordinary yet significant realization about gender stereotypical packaging, we are still leaning towards, knowing the fact that our country still promotes 'gender bias' in many ways.

Indian advertising is loaded with instances of women being used in derogatory and submissive ways to promote
a variety of consumer products
.

I feel there is a need for us to revise on the issue for ‘gender identity’ and ‘equality’ with a distinct peculiarity,
thus, by taking a walk around or inside the exhibition space shall help expose that.

Hypothetical Packaging - Mockups
Comic Strip - Packaging 'Gender Stereotypes'
The comic strip includes a narrative, commenting on the biased packaging through a series of humorous, yet amusing story.
They also include the life sized “Sculpture packaging” designs I did for the same.

The narratives shall arouse people to think about the gender bias in the
packaging they experience in their everyday lives and yet tend to ignore or give into these stereotyped
advertisements and packaging.
Thank you for learning about me and the project.
