Water Bottle Packaging Design

For this project, we were instructed to choose from a list of deities and create a water bottle logo and packaging design inspired by them. I chose the Hindu god Vayu, god of winds and close companion of god of waters. The chemistry derived from this god seemed best fit for the water supply company.
Shown above are illustrations of Vayu. He carries a white flag with him at all times, and I've incorporated that in the logo under the font. Different from above though, mine is more wavy and demonstrates wind.
I used the Luminary typeface to start with, because it was overwhelmingly curvy. I didn't want waves of wind coming from every corner in the font. Instead, the Luminary typeface has just enough character to it. I adjusted the tracking and kerning before I added a tail to the 'u' and the flag carried by Vayu.
This is a basic illustration of the Hindu god Vayu. Originally, there was more detail in the jewels on his crown and in the hair and face. I felt like this didn't fit with my design as a whole so I made his abundance of jewels simple circles and wiped away texture from his hair. Since my concept was to promote a pure, natural water, I embraced simplicity. Especially in this illustration.
My foundation lies in the structure of my design layout. Everything breathes easily with maximum space between every element. The concept here is simplicity and readability. Minimal color. Minimal detail. Minimal having-to-read. There's a lot of thought put into every design element, but I'm not overwhelming my audience with clutter.
The purple color is bold enough to grasp the attention of viewers. My audience is middle to upper class, so I chose a color that symbolizes wisdom, sophistication, and wealth. The light blue is just a way of reflecting water and creating a shadow in between the white and purple.
