My performance is based on the present moment and the value of the art of listening to your surroundings with which unintentional sounds occur. There is no specific location or time for the perfect performance since every moment and location is as valuable as the next one.
The social dynamics of Robert Rauschenberg’s paintings and John Cage’s performance brought about a structure that brings the audience to themselves. The nature of my visual structural movements communicates the same language.
My visual performance was directly linked to the eastern culture especially meditation. Meditation became means of finding serenity even in the noisiest part of the city. This is why I wanted to highlight the value of meditation in the eastern culture where the audience takes the time to observe the words and their movement in varying shadow movement as well as the sounds around them.
The structural movements are also based on the concept of opening one’s eyes to observe and one’s ears to listen. That is why I targeted the senses of listening and observing. The influence of the structure and agency on human thought is one of the central issues of sociology playing a role in contemporary thoughts.
On one hand, this project is an attempt to let people understand the musical composition of John Cage’s performance titled 4’33’’. On the other hand, the performance is a way of realizing the importance of unintentional sounds through the means of meditation.

Three A3 Plexi boxes were made differing in width with the grid cut from the sides reflecting the paintings of Robert Rauschenberg and the movements of 4’33’’.
The movements were calculated in relation to musical notes built on 8th duration chart where silence has length and fraction following a standard scale of 1 crochet in space at a point in time.
The objective of such calculations was the built up process to define the movement of the type across the box. Each movement expresses an idea of John Cage’s philosophical execution of 4’33’’. That is why each movement looks differently than the other yet sharing a common purpose.
