POLAR.
Polar is a Sofa Chair that pushes the boundaries of form and aesthetic, past and present. The project’s aim was to capture Mt. Fuji in a product: to convey the spirit of this natural beauty. The concept of chair was reinvented starting from the essential components of seat and backrest with a modern and practical use of materials, shape, color and layout. The use of copper mirrors the style of craft and the strength of natural material. The shape was inspired by the Peak of Fuji: the softness and visual symmetry of mt fuji gave a distinctive yet simple form.The contrasting colors of copper and leather gave the chair a minimalist pictorial quality that can be suited to any home.
