Filmmaking Principles

Filming principles is process of creating a visual movie that details a project or hobby that you want to focus on in the filming spectrum. There's a lot of information that has to be done behind the scenes including lighting, camera angles, video editing and assembling materials and choosing a good space. The before and after footage shows the progression of the filming principles in action.
The videos and pictures provided are for academic use only
This project provided aspects of creating video content and using the principles in filmmaking to make your project stand out. In these video tutorials, we will teach you how to complete a corn bread recipe. The techniques used allowed me to learn more about the filmmaking process and I have used these techniques going forward in all my projects. Creating a film is in essence, telling visual stories that engages an audience and everyone likes a good food tutorial.

This is the follow up video in this series. I found this a very informative course packed with a lot of educational and resourceful material that can help anyone. The videos on Lynda can definitely teach you material that will help you master any skill set you are trying to attain. Creating visual content for an audience will definitely keep your audience engaged in the visual aspect of story telling. You can always revisit scenes or remove them completely if they don't move your story forward.

When creating a project, make sure you are clear and concise to the video you choose to make. Stick with relevant topics and only focus on material that will sell your story. If your project is about cooking then stick to this topic and not venture off into a field that has nothing to do with cooking or it will confuse the direction of your viewers. You always have options when filming, always revisit your storyboard when deciding to make changes.
Make sure you are working off a script and keep a good grasp of time when working on your project. I focused on making sure my videos were timed in a way that worked with my project. A good way to test out your footage is to do a demo on your cell phone and time out the length of each segment. If it rambles on and does not work, edit it and adjust as needed.
Make sure that all your steps are in order and are visually appealing. You are capturing your audiences attention and need to stay on pace. Try not to wander off topic or stay on a topic longer than needed, the audience may begin browsing the web or looking at other content that may be shorter in layout and storytelling.
Make sure your ending is visually appealing and completes your story. In this lesson, I prepared cornbread from a recipe that I had. I went through each step of the cornbread process and ended with happy and satisfied people testing out the cornbread. Because the story had a beginning, middle and end (conclusion) your audience will feel satisfied at the end product. Engaging your audience will keep them tuning back in for more videos and will help you grow in mastering this topic.
