•    Like the heating system, you need to clean up and maintain the air conditioning filters. In some cases, you should consider replacing them as the clean air filter is good for system efficiency and power saving. 

•    It is needless to say that never remain open any window or outside doors while your air conditioning system is in the operation as it can crazily increase your electricity bills.

•    You should clean the outside condenser coil of your air conditioning system at least once a year. In order to remove dirt, leaves, dust and grime, switch off the unit and clean the coils with water keeping low pressure. 

Your Fireplace:

•    Sometimes, during the cold months, it is seen that your fireplace loses more heat than it produces. Therefore, you need to check whether it is airtight or not.

•    In place of an open-masonry fireplace, you should install a convective grate, a glass screen or fireplace insert since these are effective to reduce the loss of hot air going out through the chimney.
