This presentation summarizes the results of a research project on transit that I completed as part of my MSc program.  

This study focused on identifying usability issues with the transit planning features of 511.org’s website. 511.org is a transportation website that is
focused on providing information on transit, traffic, and other mobility options for the San Francisco Bay Area. The information provided on the website is
complemented by a companion smart phone app, that offers a limited set of transit planning functions. User research was conducted to determine how to
best improve on the usability and functionality of 511.org’s transit planning functions. The research results indicate that users desire digital transit planning
tools that are clear, uncluttered, and provide real time information that allow users to evaluate trips based on efficiency and economy.
