Am I in the sky if I am not really there?

Challenge: explore my everyday rituals with sketchbook and create object(s) from clay based on this anthropological research.
Materials: red clay, plywood, mirror foil.
Reflections
I came to Poznan 1,5 years ago. I left Ukraine at the moment when the war had already begun and no one knew how it would end. So from the very first days reading the news became my routine. Then there were ritual skype breakfasts with old friends and a blog that made me feel closer to those who were far away. A while later I realized that I was looking for places in Poznan that would be similar to my favorite spots in my native city. It all went down to one big ritual – trying to control two dimensions at the same time: the first, the one I am living in now, and the second, the one I no longer belong to, but still am trying to hold on to. Trying to exist in two dimensions at once (successfully or not I really wouldn’t say as I still have no idea what it means to exist).
Pages from sketchbook
Some places in my hometown Dnipro and my new city Poznan are very simmilar, and I started to collect theese photos and impressions. They are simmilar, but not the same like original and reflection in mirror.
What is reflection? How it works with our memories?
Sky mirrors
I am on earth. Not in the sky. Visual contact makes me feel in control, but is it enough? Objects made of clay and mirror reflect the sky and tree tops – the reality that is there, but beyond my reach. Like the Ukrainian reality that I try to hold on to without being physically present, the sky seems to be just as close yet is too far to be within my reach. Looking at the sky’s reflection in the mirrors I cannot see myself, but I am asking myself: do I exist in the dimension in which I am not physically present? Am I in the sky if I am not really there?
Finally, without all my comlicated reflections it is just an object that can make your walking nicer.
