New Year's Double 2014-2015

New Year's Double 5K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon 2014-2015
An Active Joe Norh Texas Race
In its fourth year, the director of this race handed me my biggest challenge yet. Create unique medals for every distance on both days of the race. Additionally, each possible medal pairing needed its own challenge plate. Holy moly. For the runners running back to back 5K's, half marathons, marathons, or any combination of those distances on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, the excitement and expectations were high. The Double Double Challenge Plate is typically so sought after that there is typically a waitlist to run both days as the race sells out nearly a month early every year. No pressure, huh?
Logo. Typically, we try to hint at the overall style of the medal designs when the race logo is released and the race participants have a fun time trying to drag the details out of us.

Fun side note: I have designed for and run this race every year since it started, but this year was extra special because for the first time, my mother ran it with me.
