herbária identity & package design


This project is the redesign of the identity and package design of Herbária, a renowned herbal store in Hungary.

Herbária was established in 1949 to collect, produce, process and trade medicinal plants and to manufacture herbal teas. The experience of more than five decades, gathered in the field of herb collection and processing makes the name Herbária strongly connected to the idea of excellent quality medicinal plants in Hungary. 

The purpose of this redesign was to represent the traditional values of Herbária in a more modern but characteristic way. The original logo was quite complex and old fashioned therefore the main purpose was to create a fresh, elegant and simple new design. Keeping their traditional and organic style was also an important aspect in order to communicate their values properly.

The detailed plant illustrations represent their values, and the simple, elegant logo design is dedicated to express their new, minimalistic style. There is a series of plant-based spirits
produced by the company, and their label design was created by a technique called brush calligraphy.
