Pickle Studio’s Design Brief: There are various powder based dry shampoos on the market for sprucing up your hair without the need for water, but nothing like this ‘Zerreau’ - it really works we have tried it! Waterless, Stroud asked Pickle Studio to create branding and packaging design for their innovative Zerreau ‘Towel Off’ shampoo foam. Initially to be sold in a 70ml bottle with a wrap around label, this product is Ideal for using at festivals, camping, on holiday and at the gym. Waterless wanted a mainstream, premium salon brand feel, targeted at females aged 16-45 (all hair types)
Pickle Studio started the project by researching and collecting visual reference of graphic designs, examples of typographic styles and colour ideas. We call these ‘design springboards’, we discussed the boards with Waterless, deciding on the direction in which they would like us to take the branding and packaging designs
Waterless decided the black and gold colour combination of the ‘Golden Glitz’ design springboard was definatively the direction they wanted us to take. Pickle Studio produced design concepts within this arena, exploring different approaches to the branding - size, style, colour and orientation on pack. Our concepts incorporated supporting graphic elements and demonstrated different information arrangement and heirarchy.
Pickle Studio developed the preferred design concept showing how the different essences would work across the range. When a final design was chosen and all pack information confirmed we created digital artwork, liased with the printer and specified colours along with which elements would print with a foil effect.
