Rope of Thoughts

Rope of Thoughts is a book about OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder. Symptoms of the disorder include excessive washing or cleaning, repeated checking, extreme hoarding, preoccupation with sexual, violent oder religious thoughts, aversion to particular numbers, and nervous rituals, such as opening and closing a door a certain number of times before entering or leaving a room.

The book is separated into three different chapters. It begins with a theoretic introduction and specific description of this disorder, which makes life really difficult to patients who have to deal with it. The theoretical part contains minimalistic drawings in order to explain the medical topic. The second chapter is based on a survey about OCD in every day life. The results are shown as 3-dimensional paperworks. In the last chapter, the different types of obsessive compulsive disorder are explained trough lasercuts. The symptoms are really time-consuming, but it differs from patient to patient. Each individual compulsion can be composed by using the DIY system. Additionally, illustrations of the most interesting habits in the survey are referred to the different compulsions explained through lasercuts.
